about
Afire is the second single by the Münster-based singer-songwriter Aquapax, whose first song "Fields of Grain" was nominated for the German Songwriting Awards.
Afire is a hymn to the power that is rooted in every human being.
She catches fire as soon as he remembers her. The unbelievable becomes possible.
Aquapax stages its second single with a mixture of acoustic band and orchestral sounds. Dreamy and flowing at the beginning, it develops tremendous energy in the second half, caused by the increase in dynamics and tempo as well as the trembling of the kick drum. Until the end, the permanent increase in tension in the song provides new impulses and keeps the listener in suspense.
The basis of the single is the acoustic guitar, which introduces and ends the song with a "Stairway To Heaven - Riff". Thanks to the great performance of kagenmusic, the guitar sound always remains in focus and is expanded by an expansive instrumentation [vibraphone, brass, strings]. With Afire, Aquapax has created an original work whose diversity makes it almost impossible to be labeled as a specific genre.
lyrics
Gigantic steps into the air
Can you smell the sun and flair
Can you taste the icy height
And see the thunder of the flight
Feel the holes there in the clouds
Where blue and white meet in the shrouds
Here are sunrays piercing through
Splitting any dark in you
Look ahead of you
What do you wish to see
There is but one choice left
If you want to be free
And if you catch the spark
There's nothing to require
'Cause in the darkest place
You are still afire, afire, afire
You are still afire, afire, afire
Foot to foot, narrow path
Might be smooth, might be hard
Not to fail despite all weights
At the end the light awaits
Look ahead of you
What do you wish to see
There is but one choice left
If you want to be free
And if you catch the spark
There's nothing to require
'Cause in the darkest place
You are still afire, afire, afire
You are still afire, afire, afire
You are still afire
Have you asked yourself
What we do on stand
Have we to take our mood
Right as it's planned
Or we go be free again
Discovering new land
Find yourself a pretty place
Don't dare to build on sand
Look ahead of you
What do you wish to see
There is but one choice left
If you want to be free
And if you catch the spark
There's nothing to require
'Cause in the darkest place
Tell me what is the world to you (You are still afire, afire, afire)
Tell me what is the world to you, tell me what is the world to you (You are still afire, afire, afire)
Ohhhh, tell me, tell me, what is the world to you (You are still afire, afire, afire)
What is the world to you (You are still afire, afire, afire)
In his expressive songs, the German singer/songwriter Aquapax accompanies his warm baritone with a creatively composed
guitar voice, in which other instruments artfully nestle. The focus of his music is on the sonorous interplay of catchy melodies, exciting harmonies and a sensitive interpretation.
